As a project with a footprint of over 1.5 million sq. ft., this building serves as a warehouse and distribution center for Locke Supply - a plumbing, electrical, and HVAC distributor headquartered in Oklahoma City, OK. This building is a single-story, tilt-wall construction with 38 ft. eave height and a 20,000 sq. ft. 2-story office. It leverages the use of built-up steel beams as well as open web joists for a roof structure to provide an engineered solution of both economy and resiliency. With a building length of almost a half mile long, 3 expansion joints were required to allow for structural thermal movement. This required the use of both braced frames as well as concrete shear walls combined with a stiffness analysis to determine correct load distribution.
