Part of a multi-firm design project, BKR Design served as the engineer in responsible charge for the design of the court building on the project. Requiring 265 ft. clearspan framing, the 125,000 sq. ft. court building supports the use of 12 full size basketball courts or converts to 24 volleyball courts. The structural framing consists of built-up, tapered beams and columns and sway bracing in the roof to provide required member stability. Coldform purlins and girts support the metal roof and wall panels and a suspended platform below the roof beams serve to support the retractable basketball and volleyball equipment.
